Into the Woods

Snow Canyon High School Performing Arts Department is presenting, “Into the Woods”,   November 3-5 and 7 at 7:00 p.m. in the Snow Canyon High School Auditorium.

James Lapine and Stephen Sondheim take everyone’s favorite storybook characters and bring them together for a timeless, yet relevant, piece… and a rare modern classic. The Tony Award-winning book and score are both enchanting and touching.

The story follows a Baker and his wife, who wish to have a child; Cinderella, who wishes to attend the King’s Festival; and Jack, who wishes his cow would give milk. When the Baker and his wife learn that they cannot have a child because of a Witch’s curse, the two set off on a journey to break the curse. Everyone’s wish is granted, but the consequences of their actions return to haunt them later with disastrous results.

We hope that you will come and join us in our adventure through the woods.

Theme 2022-203

(See the video below)

GOOD MORNING WARRIORS!!

I hope you’ve all enjoyed the assembly so far! Our awesome student council put a lot of time and effort into it!

As some of you may know, my name is Gwyn lamoreaux. I am Your student body President this year! I am so excited to get to serve the student body.I want you to know that our executive council is here to help and support you. So if you ever need someone to talk to, or have suggestions for fun activities, or any concerns at all. PLEASE COME TALK TO US! We are here to serve YOU.

Okay now for the fun part… I am so excited to introduce and talk about our new theme this year…  THE WARRIOR WAY!!!

This theme is special to me because WE as a student body get to decide what The Warrior Way means. It can be anything we want it to be. Not every school can claim they have a theme as cool as ours.

It’s not just a street sign, or a way to flex that we have the best mascot… it’s the way to LIVE. We take pride in the title of being a warrior.

I might be a little biased, but I feel pretty confident saying we are the BEST school in the state of utah. What makes our school so special? THE PEOPLE. The best admin and faculty who genuinely care about us. And the students. Students who uplift each other, who come together to create the loudest, and biggest student sections in region 10. Students who push themselves academically and athletically. Students who are kind to each other, loyal to the snow canyon name, and supportive to all clubs and activities as well as respectful to everyone.

If that isn’t a good description of the warrior way, then I don’t know what is.

I want to share a quote with all of you.

“What you leave behind is not what is engraved in stone monuments, but what is woven into the lives of others.”

We are all in high school doing our best. Why not choose to live the warrior way daily by being kind to others and leaving your mark on the student body.

I challenge you to think about this throughout the year,  smile at someone new in the halls, take someone out to lunch, let that car go in front of you in the jr lot even when all you want to do is get home, or just tell your teachers you appreciate them.

Let’s spend each day defining what it means to truly live the warrior way. I love you warriors!!! Now let’s go have the best year yet and leave our mark class of 23!!!

Gwyn lamoreaux, Student Body President 2022-2023
